Meet Jacob Henry

Well, 7 weeks later and I am finally adding Jacob to our blog. Let's just say life has been busy since 12/7/09. Jacob is a wonderful baby boy that has added so much joy to our lives. We can't believe how fast the last 7 weeks have gone. Colin is a great big brother that loves Jacob very much and it is amazing to see how Jacob follows Colin's voice. More to come later, but here are a few pictures we took of Jacob at 6 weeks.

Back in October we had new family pictures/maternity pictures taken. It was a lot of fun. There is a photographer in St. Michael that has been taking pictures at Colin's daycare the last few years and I have been so impressed with her pictures. I contacted her about doing the baby's pictures once baby arrives and she said with infant pictures she does a free maternity sitting. It was a lot of fun to have these taken. Something that will be a good keepsake for baby. Below are a few of my favorites.

Baby update: I am now 36.5 weeks, yeah!! We made the 36 week mark. For those who didn't know I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks and have been on bed rest ever since. I will be on bed rest until baby decides to make an appearance or December 7th arrives, which is when my c-section is scheduled for. Personally, I'm ready for baby to arrive any day. Scott is pushing for the 38 week mark, so we'll see who wins this one:) Either way, I am happy we made it to 36 weeks for the health of the baby. Scott has been doing a wonderful job of taking care of Colin and I, managing all the household tasks and still working. Colin is also doing a great job. He loves to be Daddy's helper whenever Mommy needs anything and knows way more about contractions than most 3.5 years old probably do. As soon as we have baby news to share we will be sure to post something here. No more than 2 weeks from Monday and baby will be here! And no, we still don't know what the sex is. I think today's ultrasound was number 15 and I can honestly say we don't know. What we do know is baby is breathing on its own and has very chubby cheeks!

Grandparents Day at Preschool

Colin had Grandparent's Day at Preschool on Wednesday. They all had so much fun attending preschool together. Colin was very lucky to have all 4 of his Grandparents there with him. The kids sang 2 songs for the Grandparents and were able to show them what they do each day at school.

Halloween

Colin had a great week of Halloween events. Wednesday he got to dress up for preschool, Friday was Halloween at Daycare and Saturday he went trick-or-treating with his buddy Jackson. Colin was a farmer this year. No surprise to us with his love for farming and John Deere tractors. Here are a few pictures from last night.

Colin's 1st day of Preschool

Today Colin had his first day of preschool. Wow, where has the last 3.5 years gone. He was so excited to go. He woke up this morning and when we asked him if he was ready for school today he got a huge smile on his face and said "Yeah, today is finally a school day!"

Today was a shortened version of school. It was only an hour long and Scott and I got to go with him. He loved it and is so excited to go back on Wednesday which will be a full 2.5 hour day without Mom and Dad.

As always, it was much harder on Mom than anyone else. It so nice to see how excited he is for school and so far he is showing no signs of separation issues on Wednesday. We can't wait to hear all about his first day on his own.

Vacation

We took our summer vacation the week of Labor Day. It was so nice to get away and have time with just the 3 of us. We started out our trip with a stop in Duluth, MN for a night. We did so much while we were there.

We went to the Shed Aquarium. Colin enjoyed seeing the fish and learning about the different types of ships on the Great Lakes. His favorite part was playing with the boats in the water and learning how a boat gets from the Great Lakes to the Ocean through the different locks.

We then headed to the Pier and walked out to the light house.

After the Pier we stopped for Colin to throw rocks into Lake Superior. Instead of just throwing rocks in Colin went in the water and got pretty wet. We kept asking him if he was cold and he said "No, I like the water cold."

The next day we woke up, had breakfast and Colin was back to Lake Superior. He loves the water there. We didn't even want to put our feet in the water, but Colin went all the way in as though it were bath water. He really does love the water cold.

After swimming we checked out of the hotel and went to the Train Station for a 10 mile train ride up the shore of Lake Superior. This was Colin's first train ride and he was really excited for it. He got to see how they switch the tracks to allow the train to go from track to track and he saw the engine go from the front of the train to the back of the train. We all really enjoyed the ride.

After the train ride we headed to Hurley for a few days. On Tuesday we headed into Camp with Grampa, Uncle Jason and Cousin Brian. The boys had so much fun playing together while the older boys began work on building a sauna. I had a lot of fun watching the boys interact together. Brian is getting the age where he watches Colin to see what he is doing and likes to copy what Colin does. Colin really enjoyed teaching his cousin.

And Buster joined us too. He loved running all day!

Throughout our time in Hurley Colin and Daddy got to take a few 4 wheeler rides, which Colin loves!!

On Wednesday we headed up to the UP and went to the Porcupine Mountains and saw Lake of the Clouds. It was beautiful! Colin enjoyed climbing the rocks and Scott and I enjoyed looking at how beautiful the lake was and the surroundings. On our way back down we stopped at Lake Superior for another swim for Colin. Again, he loved the cold.

What a great way to end the summer!

Summertime Fun!

We've had a great summer!! It has been so busy. Seems like every weekend and during the week we have had so much going on. Here are a few things we've been up to.

The end of July we had the annual Geach/McGill weekend at the cabin. We all had a great time together and Colin found a new love, tubing!! He pretty much went tubing with every combination of adults that weekend.

On August 1st Daddy ran his first at the Hanover Harvest Festival and did great! We were so proud of him.

Then Colin got to do a kid's Fun Run with his friend Vanessa.

After the 5K and Fun Run we went with the Brutger's to the parade. Colin and Jackson waiting patiently for the parade to start.

We had a busy day on August 1st, after the parade we headed to celebrate Brian's 1st Birthday (our nephew). Brian turned 1 on August 15th. We had a great day celebrating with him.

A few days late, but Happy 1st Birthday Brian!! We love you and have enjoyed watching you grow this last year and can't wait to see what the future holds for you. We are so blessed to have you as our nephew.

August 7-9th we headed up to Grand Forks to visit Auntie Stacy and Joe. Joe took all of us to a few different farms and Colin was able to sit in several different John Deere tractors and a semi-trucks. He was in heaven!! He hasn't stopped talking about it since. He can't wait until we can go back up and he can go for a ride. Unfortunately the weather was rainy so they couldn't take the tractors out. We had a great weekend with Auntie and Joe and Nanny and Papa.

This past weekend we had our friends the Hanson's and the Botten's up to the cabin. The weather wasn't the best, but we all had a great time.

That's been the last few weeks of summer.

Baby update- this little one continues to be a mover. So very different from Colin. Colin and Scott have both felt the baby move numerous times and Colin just loves to feel the baby move. He keeps asking why we can't take the baby out now. December seems so far away for him. We had our 20 week ultrasound back in July and decided not to find out the sex of the baby. Everything looked great and the baby was on the move during the ultrasound which was so great to see. So far, most everyone thinks it's a girl besides Colin and I, we think it's a boy, so we shall see in December. We are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little one.

Our Garden

We finally had a few vegetables to pick tonight from the garden. Colin was so excited to help pick the sweet peas and to get to eat them right away as we picked them. It is so fun to see how proud he is of his section of the garden that is really growing well.

Hint: if anyone has a picky eater that doesn't like vegetables, start a garden. Colin is eating more vegetables now!!

Mall of America

Last Saturday we took Colin to Mall of America for dinner and rides. We started the night at the Rainforest Cafe. We had a great dinner and Colin loved the rainstorms. We then headed to the Park at MOA for rides. Colin loves rides!! He wasn't afraid of any of them. He first went on rides at the park about 1.5 years ago and has loved them since. This time, he even went down the log ride with Daddy and loved it! I think it took me until I was about 10 to try rides like that. Here are a few of his favorite rides.

A Day at Preschool

Colin is at his first day of preschool today. I dropped him off at 9:00 this morning and he'll be there until 12:00. He was so excited. He asked last night before bed if this was his last sleep before he could go to school in the morning. The preschool he will be attending this fall had a few days this summer that the kids could go and spend the morning playing, doing a craft and having lunch, so today was his day. When I said good-bye to him he could have cared less that I was leaving. I think Mommy was the only one sad about leaving. I still can't believe my little boy is old enough for preschool. I was so proud of him for being such a big boy and just heading right into the classroom to play with the other kids. I can't wait to go get him soon and hear all about it. He was so excited to bring his lunch to school. I think the only disappointment was last night at dinner when he said how excited he was to ride the school bus and we had to tell him that he wouldn't be riding a school bus for a few years.

2 Great Weekends!!

We've had a busy 2 weeks. 2 weekends ago we spent the weekend at the cabin with 2 of my cousins and there kids. We had a great time. The weather wasn't the greatest, but that didn't stop the kids from playing outside on the beach and even doing a little tubing and jumping in the middle of the lake off the dock. Colin loves being with his "big cousin's" as he calls them and they are all so wonderful to him. We really enjoyed our weekend with everyone. Here are a few pictures of the weekend.

This past weekend we were up in Hurley, WI to see Jason, Melissa and Brian and to celebrate the 4th. We had a great weekend spending time with family and just relaxing as a family. Colin was completely off his schedule and did great. Each night he was up until about midnight and slept in until about 9:00 each morning which was wonderful!! Thanks for a great weekend Auntie, Uncle and Brian!!

On Thursday we took the kids to see Wildlife Wildwood Adventures in Minocqua, WI. We had so much fun. It's like a zoo, but a lot of the animals are free to roam and we were able to pet and feed a lot of them. Colin was really into it.

2 great weekends. We are home for the next 2 weekends and then back to the cabin with my parents and the Geach's. What a fun summer it's been!!

Welcome Back!!

Well, I took a little break. But, we are back. Not that there hasn't been a lot to share out in the last 2.5 months, I just wasn't finding the time to update the blog. So, rather than recapping the last 2.5 months, we are just going to go forward from here.

The biggest news.....We are expecting baby #2 in December!! We are all so very excited. Baby is expected to arrive on December 7th or 8th. I know Heather Hanson is cheering for December 7th to share a birthday with this little one. We'll just have to wait and see. We had an ultrasound on Wed. and wow, this one is a mover. Way more than Colin ever was for us on camera. We got some great shots and Colin was so excited to see his baby. He is so excited to be a Big Brother. He talks to the baby all the time, kisses my tummy, and is convinced it's a brother. And for those who are wondering, we didn't find out the sex and aren't sure if we will or not in July when we have our 20 week ultrasound. More to come!!

Beyond the baby news we've really been enjoying spring and the beginning of summer. Even though the weather hasn't been the best, we are still enjoying the outdoors. We planted a garden on Memorial Weekend and Colin is really enjoying helping with the garden. He even has his own spot in the garden that he planted whic of course is growing the best. Go figure! Who knew dumping seeds, then layering on rocks, then dirt would produce such tall plants. Even Scott, who wasn't completely bought in on the idea, is really loving the garden.

Last Sunday we joined our friends the Brutger's at the Saints game. The boys had a blast! The weather wasn't the best, but no rain, so we were fine. The game on Saturday was rained out so we got to see a double header. The boys made it through the middle of the second game, so that was great. For those who know Jackson and Colin, they are two peas in a pod. Mel and I just love watching the two of them together and see so many visions of years to come of these two growing up together. We are blessed to have such great friends!

3 years old

We have a three year old as of last Sunday! It's been a week of celebrations.

We started the week with a trip to Hurley with Gramma, Grampa, Auntie Melissa, Uncle Jason and Brian. We had a great 3 day weekend (Sat-Mon) up north. We surprised Colin with a Arctic Cat 4 wheeler on Saturday. His response was precious- "It's just what I wanted." He pretty much lived in it all weekend. Brian even thought it was pretty neat to sit in. We had a celebration with everyone on Sunday (Colin's actual birthday) and opened a few presents.

We headed back on Monday and had Colin's three year doctor's appointment on Tuesday morning. He is growing like a weed! His whole life so far (all 3 years of it) he has always been 50th percentile height and weight and 97th for his head (lot's of room for those brains :)). He jumped to 75th percentile for both height and weight and is at the 50th percentile for his BMI. They no longer chart the head size, but we know it's still huge!

Then it was off to daycare for his daycare birthday party. While he was gone in the morning the kids helped Erin make brownies and a birthday crown. He had a great celebration at daycare that day.

Saturday was the big family/friends celebration. We did a John Deere theme this year. Those that know Colin well know he is a huge fan of tractors and specifically John Deere. The party was wonderful. We had a house full of people and the kids all did wonderful together playing and celebrating with Colin. Colin got so many nice gifts, thank you everyone!

Sunday (today) we took Colin to his first movie at the theatre. We went and saw Monsters versus Aliens. It was a great movie and Colin was perfect the entire time. Laughing through it and sitting still eating his popcorn the entire 90 minutes. He is asking when we can go again. When we got home from the movie Colin's friends Vanessa and Lance across the street where out so Colin ran over to play. He took both kids for a ride in the Arctic Cat and Colin and Vanessa went biking together. Colin's bike was a present from yesterday from Gramma and Grampa. He's doing great riding it.

It's hard to believe our little boy is 3 years old already. These last three years have been so amazing watching Colin learn and grow. He is an amazing little boy that both Scott and I are so proud to call our son. He brings such joy to our day each day. I can't wait to see what the future holds for him. Happy 3rd Birthday Colin, Daddy and I love you very much!

Arizona

We are back from a wonderful week in Arizona and trying to get back into reality. We had such a great week. Here is a quick recap of our week and a few pictures.

Saturday- We were off on the plane to Arizona. This was Colin's first plane ride and he did so wonderful. We had a layover in Denver which was perfect to have a little break. He slept almost the entire flight from Denver to Phoenix.

Sunday- We had breakfast with the Weaver's that were just ending their trip in AZ then back to the pool for some fun in the sun.

Monday- Spring Training! We went to an A's and Angel's game. It was so nice to site outside and enjoy a baseball game.

Tuesday- More fun in the sun at the pool.

Wednesday- Pool time and a nice long walk around the area and a stop at a local playground.

Thursday- Phoenix Zoo. What a great zoo! We had so much fun and really enjoyed seeing all the animals. Kelly and Colin got to take a camel ride and Scott and Colin went on a carousel ride.

Friday- What we thought was our last day at the pool and in the evening we went to a neat train park for a train ride, carousel ride and play time at the park.

Saturday- Round 1 departure at the airport. We headed to the airport for a 10:50 am flight. 30 minutes before departure they announced a mechanical issue with the plane so we asked for a Sunday flight which we got. So we called Nanny and Papa and they came back to get us and we were back for another day at the pool. Saturday night we hit the Pavilion for a car show and then had a nice pizza dinner.

Sunday- Our flight wasn't until 3:15 so we enjoyed the morning at the pool and then headed to the airport for our flight back. Again, Colin loved the ride, took a nap and did just great. It was a late night, but well worth the extra time.

Overall, we had such a great week. Colin was a perfect little traveler and we can't wait to hopefully head back to Phoenix again. Thanks Dee, Jim, Nanny and Papa for such a wonderful trip!

Train Museum

Yesterday we went with Scott's parents to the Train Museum in St. Paul. What a neat place. The train club has created a replica of downtown in the 50's and 60's with numerous trains running through. Colin really enjoyed himself. It was so much fun to see all of the trains running and all the detailed work that went into creating the model. I would highly recommend going to see it, especially if your little ones like trains. They also had 2 Thomas the Train tables set-up for the kids to play with, that Colin of course loved playing with.

Gramma had just come back earlier in the week from California and had gone to Disneyland and bought Colin a train hat that he wore all day and even had to go to sleep with last night.

Colin's First Dentist Appointment

Today Colin had his first dentist appointment. He did wonderful!!! We've been talking about it for a while now and at first he was not excited about the idea of going to the dentist. But after reading many books about going to the dentist he was a perfect patient. We timed his appointment with Scott's so he was able to watch Daddy getting his teeth cleaned before getting his. A little while into Scott's cleaning Colin said he was ready to have his teeth cleaned so I headed over to the chair with him. He loved the chair and learning about all the tools. He said his favorite part was the flavors. Leave it to Colin to ask half way through the cleaning if he could try another flavor. So he started with bubble gum and then moved on to chocolate. For his fluoride treatment he chose marshmallow. Sara, the dental assistant, was so good with him. She did a great job explaining everything to him before doing anything. What a big boy! We were very proud of him. Hopefully the second appointment in August will go just as smooth.

Valentine's Weekend at the Cabin

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's weekend. We did! We were at the cabin with Nanny and Papa. The weather was great and we spent a lot of time outdoors.

Friday on the way up we had a crazy idea to pull into the Best Buy in Brainerd and see if they happened to have a Wii. Well, they did, so we bought one. We pretty much spent every free minute playing it this weekend. And guess who happened to be really good at it? My mom! She was an amazing bowler. She even beat my dad, Scott and I a few times. So that was a fun way to start the weekend off.

Saturday morning we celebrated Valentine's Day with everyone and of course Colin got a few gifts. My parents gave him a new pair of Speed McQueen crocks which he literally slept in Saturday night. He loves them! I'm sure they will be the only thing he will want to wear in Arizona in a few weeks.

After our little party we all got bundled up and went into Nisswa for the Nisswa Days parade. It was a lot of fun. Where else do you get to go to a parade in the middle of winter except in MN!

Saturday night Scott and I had a date night! It was wonderful. We went out for a nice relaxing dinner, just the two of us. Colin stayed with Nanny and Papa and of course he had a great time too!

Sunday morning after breakfast we all got our winter wear on an headed outside for a morning of playing outside. Colin went sledding about 100 times down the hill. Daddy thought he was ready for the big hill, which made me a little nervous, but of course Colin loved it and wanted to keep going down it. After sledding we took Colin for a sled ride on the lake out to the island and walked around. The weather was just beautiful and we all had a good time.

And of course, we can't forget Buster. He too was exhausted. He and Charlie (my parents dog) ran and ran and ran the whole 2 hours we were outside.

After our playtime outside we headed inside and packed up to come home. We obviously exhausted Colin outside because he slept the whole ride home.

The Latest with the Geach's

Hope everyone is enjoying this warm weather! I am, but my boys sure aren't. It's put a quick halt on any snowmobiling for now. Colin keeps asking "Why does the snow have to leave Mommy? I want it to come back." Secretly, I could live without, but for them hopefully we will have some more snow soon so they can get a little snowmobiling in before spring.

I haven't posted in a while because life has been a little busy. Nothing specific, just the regular day to day activities. So, here is a quick look at what has been going on since mid January.

A few weeks ago we officially moved Colin into his big boy bed. Tears from mom, but he loves it. My little boy is once again showing me how big he is getting each day. He has done wonderful in it. He doesn't get out until he calls for us to come get him which is great. And for the most part has been sleeping through the night. A few nights he has woke up with a scared cry, I think he was just confused as to where he was. His room is no where near done, but that's ok. We moved him into what was the toy room and have left the nursery as is for now. Next Friday is painting day and Nanny is working on a quilt for him. So hopefully by his birthday we will have a completed room for him. Here is a picture of him from the first night. We started with the matress on the floor and are now ready to add the box spring and frame this weekend. I'll post more pictures once his baseball room is done.

Next was Papa's (my dad) 60th birthday. We celebrated with going out to dinner and Colin enjoying Papa's ice cream sundae. We had a nice celebration with my parents.

The last weekend in January we made another trip to Hurley to snowmobile and see Jason, Melissa and Brian. Colin went on his first long ride with us on the sled. For the most part he did really well. We were gone for about 2 hours. It was fun to finally have a family ride with all of us! We had so much fun being with Brian (of course!)! He just keeps getting cuter each time we see him. It is so fun to watch Colin and Brian together. Brian follows Colin's voice and is always watching him and Colin just loves his cousin. He is so cute when he is playing and talking with him. Melissa and I can't wait for the days when the boys are running around together. Here are the boys together. Surprising, but I didn't really take many pictures that weekend!

That's all for now. We are heading up to the cabin this weekend with my parents. Wishing there was some snow to play around in, but we'll have to see.

A few days late, but Scott has officially entered the 30's. I'm glad to say I am still in my 20's for a few months :)

We celebrated Scott's day with a weekend up in Hurley. Colin and I gave Scott a new snowmobile for his birthday a little early in December so what better way to celebrate the big day than with a trip to Hurley. We stayed with Jason, Melissa and Brian and had a great weekend.

Saturday we got up and headed to the Hurley house and Scott, Jason and Jim went riding for the day. Before the guys took off Colin was able to get a few rides in on the sleds and a snowplow ride with Grandpa. Here are Uncle and Colin on a ride.

Once the guys were back we all went down to Silver Street for dinner at the Iron Nugget. Melissa and I thought it would be cute for the boys to wear matching outfits. They sure are cute together!

After dinner we went back to the Hurley house for cake, ice cream and opening presents.

Then the fun began. Gramma and Grandpa offered to put the boys to bed while Scott, Jason, Melissa, EB and I headed down to Silver Street to celebrate Scott's birthday at the bars. We had a great time! It's been a while since we've been out so late and had fun like that!

Sunday morning we hung out with Jason, Melissa and Brian and watched Brian try cereal. It was so fun to watch him try to eat it.

Then we all went to the Hurley house for some outside fun in the snow with Colin and Brian. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of them.

Sesame Street Live

Big night for us last night, we went to Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Green Thumb. It was great. Nanny, Papa, Gramma, Scott and I were all there to see the excitement in Colin's eyes. It was so much fun. Colin said his favorite part was all the dancing. The story line was really cute and Colin sat and watched the show so intensely while eat ting his popcorn, it was so cute. And of course there were times when he got up and showed us his great dancing moves. He's quite the dancer! Here are a few pictures from the night.

Preschool

Wow, I can't believe it, but we signed Colin up for Preschool this week. He will be going 2 days a week during the school year next year on Monday's and Wednesday's. I still can't believe that my baby is old enough to be going to preschool. He will be going to Children's Country Preschool at our church in Hanover. Colin is so excited. When I told him I had signed him up he asked if he was going now. He is so ready for it. And hopefully his friend Carson from across the street will be in the same class as Colin. They will have so much fun together.

Snow, Snow, Snow

This past weekend we were at my parent's cabin. We headed up on Friday for a weekend of fun in the snow and snowmobiling. Auntie Stacy and Joe joined us as well. There was plenty of snow for all of us to have fun and get a lot of riding in. We officially took our first family ride with Colin. He loved it! He rides with Scott on his sled and doesn't even mind his helmet. I can tell my little boy is really growing up. It seemed like it would be forever when he was born that all 3 of us would be able to go riding together. What fun! Here are a few pictures.

The Geach's Christmas

Wow, Christmas has come and gone once again. What a magical year it was this year for our family. Colin added such a joy to our Christmas this year as he has done each year. This year was even more exciting to see the joy and magic of the season through his eyes. As he grows older and really begins to know the true meaning of Christmas ("It's Jesus' birthday" as he tells us) and to see the excitement of Santa Clause he is such a light in our lives. Here is a look at our week of Christmas and a few pictures of our trip up to Hurley after Christmas Day for the weekend.

We started our celebrations at Gramma and Grandpa's house on Sunday.

Daddy got the first gift of the night, this is also his 30th Birthday gift from Mommy and Colin. Wow, was he surprised!

Colin and his favorite cousin Brian. He can't get enough of him. It was so fun to celebrate Brian's first Christmas with him this year.

Colin says his favorite gift was his scooter. And we are pretty sure it was also his Arctic Cat jersey. He never took it off after opening the gift that night. Thanks EB and Mark!!

On Tuesday my mom and I took Colin to see the Macy's 8th floor display and to sit on Santa's lap. It was a very fun day.

Wednesday we were off to church for Christmas Eve service and then to Nanny and Papa McGill's.

The big event of the weekend was Colin got to go see the groomers that Daddy and Grandpa drive to groom the trails. This was the largest John Deere Colin had ever seen. He loved it. And he even got to take a ride in one of the groomers with Daddy and Grandpa.

And to end the trip, Daddy and Grandpa thought it would be fun to have Colin start learning to drive his sled on his own. He did good, but I think it will be a little while until he is off riding on his own!

Wow, what a Christmas we had. Now to find the room for all the gifts! Thank you to everyone we celebrated with. We had a wonderful Christmas with everyone. Hope you all had the same.

Fun in the Snow

Thought I would share a few pictures of Colin's first ride back on the Z120 today. His first ride on it this season. He was able to ride around the yard in Hurley over Thanksgiving weekend with Grandpa, but we finally had enough snow at our house to take the snowmobile out. He was smiling from ear to ear as soon as he heard Daddy start it up in the garage today.

After riding around the yard and the grass was starting to show Daddy decided it was time to put the sled back in the garage. So Colin headed out into the snow to make prints (he loves seeing his tracks in the snow, just like Scott did when he was a little boy) and making snow angels. He couldn't quite understand why we couldn't make a snowman. I'm sure we will have the right kind of snow soon.

Halloween

A little late, yes, but here is Diego!! Those who know Colin best know that there is only one favorite character in his life, and that is Diego. Unfortunately, Colin came down with a fever on Halloween so trick-or-treating was shortened to a few houses in the neighborhood. He still had a blast dressing up as Diego and going trick-or-treating with his favorite neighbor Nessa (Vanessa, but he likes to call her Nessa). The two of them were adorable going house to house holding hands and saying trick-or-treat.

We had also gone to our ECFE Halloween Party earlier in the week so Colin and his friend Jackson had fun running around there.

October Highlights

Hello!!! We are back. Wow, this fall has flown by. Scott and I were just talking about how we think this fall has been busier than the summer was for use. So after a few harassment's from my sister-in-law, her sister and my mother-in-law I am really going to try and keep up with my postings. So here are a few updates from October.

On October 3rd we took Colin to the St. Michael Fire Department open house. We had so much fun. We saw the Monsrud's there (our daycare family) so Colin and Cooper were able to run around and play on the fire trucks together. Check out these two cuties, they might be trouble in a few years!!

I'm not sure who had more fun spraying water out of the hose, Colin or Daddy.

On October 12th we took Colin to the Apple Orchard and to pick out a pumpkin. We went to Deer Lake Orchard in Buffalo and had a great time. Colin was really excited that we got to go on a hay ride pulled by a John Deere Tractor.

They had a huge pile of hay bails that Colin climbed all over.

Then, the biggest news is that on October 15th Colin woke up and declared that he was a big boy now and does not wear diapers. So we went with it and put him into pull ups and he is now in big boy underwear!! We are so proud of him and are amazed that the training process has been much easier than we could have ever imagined. Not that we haven't had any accidents, but it's been much quicker and smoother than we thought it would have.

We headed up north for the weekend October 18-20. The weather was beautiful and the colors were amazing on the trees. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

We headed into Camp for a while which was a lot of fun. Colin asked if he could just stay there. He wasn't real happy to leave, but feel asleep on the 4 wheeler on the way out. It was a great day!!

This was also Buster's first trip into camp. Can you believe how big he has gotten!!

Scott's working on developing Buster's hunting skills. He seems to be doing really well.

We were also able to spend a little time with Jason, Melissa and Brian. Brian keeps getting cuter each time we see him.

This past week Jason, Melissa and Brian were down for a few days and we were able to spend more time with them. We had the boys both put on there Halloween costumes. Colin loves telling us that baby cousin is going to be a pea in a pod for Halloween.

Yesterday we had our ECFE Halloween party. Colin's friend Jackson was also there. We had a great time playing game and doing crafts. Here is the monkey and Diego.

Fish Fry Anyone??

On Saturday our neighbor Shelly cooked a good old fashioned fish fry for all of the neighbors. It was delicious! I for one am not a fish fan, but I loved her fish fry's. Colin and all the kids ate every last bite. We had a great evening spending time with our neighbors and hanging out at the bonfire at Tony and Laura's house until after midnight. Once the kids were in bed it was adult time at the fire!

The best part of the evening was when Shelly decided to show the kids how to do the Peanuts Dance. Here is a video clip of them dancing.

Our Nephew has Arrived!!!

Brian Matthew Geach arrived on Friday, August 15th at 12:31 am. We were able to head up to Ashland, WI to see him first thing Friday morning. He is just adorable. Being an Auntie is wonderful! Colin is truly in love with him. When Brian would start to fuss Colin would say "It's OK Baby Cousin" or start singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to him and he would stop fussing. It was so cute. Jason and Melissa are doing great. Such a cute little family.

One cute thing... When Melissa was pregnant Colin started calling Baby Cousin Fred, so when we told him that Baby Cousin was born and that his name was Brian he said "No, I call him Fred." Until today he called him Fred and wouldn't call him anything else than that. Pretty cute.

Way too long

Did you think the Geach Family disappeared? We didn't. I guess I just took a little summer break from blogging. But we are back! The summer has been great. From our last blog we said we were getting a puppy, and we did! Buster arrived into our family in late May and has been a delight. Well, most of the time. Overall he really has been a very good puppy. He's getting bigger by the day. Not so sure he'll hit 95 pounds like Tucker, but he might be close. Colin named him Buster. He was set on his name being Buster so we went with it. For those that are Pooh and Tigger fans, there is a little dog on the show named Buster, so that's where he got it from.

Rather than going backwards several months I'm just going to post a few pictures from recent events and move forward.

A big hit this summer has been Batter Batter Baseball that Nanny (my mom) purchased for Colin. He loves it! I think we might have a future Twins player in the making. Scott and I have also had a great time playing with it.

Colin has enjoyed spending a lot of time outside this summer. He is a little fish that can't seem to stay out of the water. EB bought him a slip-n-slide (old school!!) for his birthday. He loves playing in it.

A New Puppy

Yes, we made the big decision to welcome a new puppy into our family. On Sunday we visited a breeder in St. Could that had a litter of 9 puppies- 3 females and 6 males. After a lot of thought that day and the look in Colin's eyes when he saw the puppies we made a decision that evening to go for it. We are so excited!! Tucker has been gone for almost 6 months and we really have missed having a family dog in our house. So I guess we have a busy summer ahead of us of training the puppy and hopefully this fall Scott and the puppy will be able to work on hunting training.

Here are a few pictures we took on Sunday. They are very light colored yellow labs. We will be picking out our puppy (male) sometime during Memorial Weekend.

On Saturday we had a very special Go Diego Go 2 year old birthday party for Colin. Family and friends were at our house to celebrate with us. The Diego theme was a hit! Colin received some very nice presents from everyone. I think we now own almost every Diego toy on the market. We spent Sunday playing with all of his new things. Unfortunately Colin came down with a cold at the end of the week which then turned into a double ear infection on Sunday. But even with that, he still had a great time at his party. And he sure loved the cake!

Hard to believe, but we officially have a two year old in our house. Wow, the first two years have certainly gone by fast. Colin turned 2 on March 22. Scott, Colin and I spent the day together. We started out with a few presents, then breakfast at Denny's, then on to the Children's Museum, lunch at the mall and ended the day at Chuck E Cheese with both sets of Grandparents and Auntie Stacy. Colin had such a great day and was such a trooper with very little of a nap. That is a sure sign that he is getting older, no nap. Here are a few pictures of our day together.

February in Review

I guess it's been a little while since I last posted anything. I still can't believe that February is almost over. Wow, it won't be long and we will be playing outside without jackets, boots, hats and mittens. I can't wait! Here are a few highlights from the last few weeks around the Geach house.

My friend Carrie and I took the boy's (Colin and her son Brady) to the Children's Museum. The boys had a great time running around together and exploring all the neat exhibits. Here is a picture of the boy's driving a car together.

We all headed up to Hurley, WI for a long weekend to see Auntie and Uncle. We spent 2 nights in camp. Even Gramma Geach joined all of us for the weekend in camp! Colin loves being in camp. He had a little melt down when he realized we were leaving. He's still talking about wanting to go back to camp. While in camp we played outside a lot with Auntie and Uncle and Gramma and Grandpa. The weather was perfect the weekend we were there. Here are a few pictures. Hard to tell who the kids are (Daddy and Uncle!).

This past weekend Colin and Mommy were very busy. Friday night we first went over to our friends the Libby's across the street (click on Libby's and you can see a picture of the kids) and the kids played together and ate dinner. Then we all headed over to our neighbor Shelly's house for a wonderful fish fry. Our picky little eater ate fish! I couldn't believe it. Here is the proof (Colin is sitting on our neighbor Laura's house). We had so much fun hanging out with all our neighbors and the kids had more fun playing together and watching movies.

Saturday morning was swimming lessons, a quick nap at home and then we were off to Disney Live! On Tour at the Target Center. Nanny and Gramma came with us. I think the pictures say it all, but Colin had a wonderful time. In the beginning he was a little overwhelmed, but once he warmed up he was singing and dancing away to the show. Before the show ended he was so hot, we had to take off his sweater, so he was left in his onesie and jeans. He got a Handy Manny toolbox there and still hasn't stopped playing with it. He walks around "fixing" everything he can find in the house. Looks like Daddy has a partner to help with all the honey do list things Mommy has!!

The whole gang! The show included characters from Handy Manny, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, Little Einstein's and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

For the last few minutes of the show Colin danced in aisle. He was really into the music.

To end the weekend was a nice long bath. Colin got a new Elmo towel from Nanny and Papa for Valentine's day. He loves it! It even has an opening for him to put his hands into.

Colin's First Snowmobile

Today was a very big day for Colin (and Daddy too). We purchased a Z120 snowmobile for Colin. He is so excited about it. From the minute he saw it before it was even purchased he kept saying "My snowmobile, for me." He loves to say that he has a snowmobile just like Daddy's. It makes Mommy just a little nervous to think that my baby, who isn't even 2 years old yet, is riding around the yard on a snowmobile. I know, it goes very slow and Daddy is always right there next to him, or riding with him, so it's safe, but it still makes me a little nervous, I guess that's my job. Our little boy is really growing up. There were moments today that I think Daddy was more excited about the new toy than Colin :)

Colin even let Mommy and Daddy go for a few rides with him. After only minutes of being on the sled Colin already has learned how to use the throttle himself. Now he just needs to learn how to use the brake! Wonder where he got that gene from? Like Father, Like Son.

Swimming Lessons

Colin is taking swimming lessons again this winter. He was in lessons last year during the winter and had such a great time. Ever since the weather has gotten cold out he says "I go swimming today?" So, we decided to enroll in swimming lessons again this winter. We started our first lesson last Saturday and went again this Saturday. The first lesson went much better than the second. He just wasn't as comfortable the second time. Hopefully next week will go better! Maybe it was because both Grandma's came to watch Colin last weekend and it was just Mommy and Daddy this weekend. Here are a few pictures of our little swimmer. Mommy was in the water with Colin for the first lesson and Daddy was in this past weekend.

A Snowy Day

A little late posting these pictures, but I thought they were so cute that I'd post them a few days late.

Last Thursday we got about an inch of snow at our house. Closer into Minneapolis got nothing, funny how the weather works. That night, Scott went out to shovel the driveway and Colin really wanted to go with, so we all got dressed for the outdoors and went out to play and shovel. Colin has a sand shovel from this summer that he calls his "rake" so he went out to help Daddy. It was so cute. He would take the snow from one snowbank across the driveway, walk over to Scott and drop it all on the driveway next to Scott and say "Here Daddy." We also did a little sledding on the driveway too and filling up the sled with snow. I just love his imagination!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Season and is planning to have a great New Year. We had a wonderful 5 days of Christmas (yes, 5. Friday through Tuesday) with all of our family. The joy of Christmas is just amazing to see through a child's eyes. Colin had such joy on his face all week.

On Christmas Eve we attended the 2:30 church service, which thankfully was the children's service, so a little chatter from Colin wasn't a big deal. As we walked into the sanctuary the usher looked just like Santa with a beard and all. Colin says in a fairly loud voice "Merry Christmas Santa." Scott and I did all we could from laughing out loud. Then, just before the service started Colin shouted out "Happy Birthday Jesus!" Many people turned around and gave us a big smile. He certainly could have said something worst, so we just smiled at our little boy. Happy to see that he understands Christmas is more than just toys.

For the rest of the day we were at our house and the Grandparent's, Auntie Stacy, Cousin EB and Mark joined us. Santa stopped by both of the Grandparent's house and left stockings for us there too! Wow, is Colin spoiled or what?

And the greatest news of all..... Colin is going to have a new baby cousin this summer. We are so excited!!!

Thank you to everyone that celebrated this holiday season with us. We had such a wonderful time with everyone. And thank you to everyone who gave us so many presents! I think our house has turned into Toys R Us!! Where to put all of these new toys.

Apparently in my blog from yesterday I made an untrue statement about Daddy and the weather. Of course it was not to cold for him to go snowmobiling, it was too cold for Colin to go. My apologies to the Daddy of the household. I should have realized that it is never to cold for Scott to be on a snowmobile :)

Our Weekend in Review

Can you believe how cold it is outside? With that said, we had a great weekend indoors all weekend! Colin would have loved to have gone for a ride on the snowmobile but Daddy wasn't quite up for it with the "warm" temperatures we are having and I didn't want Colin's soft skin exposed to such cold weather.

So, here is our weekend in review.

Friday night I had the perfect vision in my head of having a family dinner (which we did and Colin ate 4 bites of green beans!! Big news for us with our picky eater). Then we headed downstairs to decorate the tree. One thing to note, the tree fell over last weekend when we put it up. So we got it all decorated and Colin loved helping hang the decorations.

We sat on the couch to read a Christmas story together when all of a sudden, crash!! Down came the tree once again, but this time with ornaments on. Lucky, we only lost one of them. Colin stood there going "Tree Broken, oh no."

So that was Friday night. Saturday Colin and I went to a Christmas party hosted by Erin our Daycare lady and her mom that also does daycare. We had a great time. Santa made a visit and Colin still wasn't real excited to get close to him.

Saturday evening we had a great night just being home together. One thing to note, Colin went on the potty for the third time on Saturday! He's doing great just telling us when he needs to go potty and after sitting down within a minute or so he goes. I can only hope this is a sign of potty training going well for us some day.

(Aimee- Seems to me like this will be great black mail with Colin and Carson when they go out on there first dates! I seem to remember seeing a very similar picture of Carson a few weeks ago:))

Sunday we tried a new church in downtown Hanover. Colin did great going to the nursery and Scott and I enjoyed the service.

After nap on Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Geach's house to see Auntie and Uncle that were in town for the weekend. We ate pizza, Colin placed his hand print on our tree skirts (great Christmas idea I can share with anyone who is interested) and then we decided that Grandma should try cutting Colin's hair. She always cuts the boy's hair (Scott, Jason and Jim) so why not Colin's! He did wonderful. With the help of Auntie, Grandma, myself and a cartoon show on TV, it was a success. Grandma said that Colin was her best client yet. And she did a great job. Here is a picture of his new do.

Next weekend begins the rush of Christmas for us, so this was a well needed relaxing weekend for all of us.

Happy Boys

I sure have two happy boys after the snowfall this weekend. Colin is following in his Daddy's footsteps of his love for the snow and winter. After getting home Sunday afternoon from shopping for a Christmas Tree Colin said to Scott "Ride please Daddy." How can you say no to that? Here are a few pictures of my happy boys riding in the snow.

A weekend with Colin

Colin and I spent the weekend just the two of us. It was great, but we sure did miss Daddy. Scott was gone Friday through late tonight deer hunting up in Hurley. It sure is true that you don't realize what a team you are until you are the one and only caregiver. Scott is a great partner to have and a wonderful Daddy. Colin's first words each morning were "I see Daddy." And throughout the weekend he kept asking "Where Daddy go?"

We started the weekend off by going to our former neighbors new house, the Patzner's, in Andover Friday night. They have 3 little boys that Colin got to play with. Colin had fun playing and watching the boys run around. They are a little older than Colin so he wasn't so sure about getting in and actually playing with them. I had a great time catching up with Lori. Her husband Neil and Scott both hunt WI so we try to get together this weekend each year since we are both hunting widows. Colin crashed in the car on the way home and slept great until 5 am Sat. morning. I couldn't believe it. My baby that never gets up in the night was awake. I rocked him for a few minutes and he fell back asleep until 7:30, so that was great.

Saturday morning Colin helped me clean the house. What a great little helper he was. Then we got ready and went to lunch with Heather and Koralyn and then they came back to our house for a playdate. Koralyn is about a year older than Colin and Heather is sure she and Colin are going to get married someday! They sure did play well together which was nice. Heather and I were able to just hang back for the most part and catch up. When it was time to go they even exchanged a kiss! How adorable. Heather took pictures so once she sends them to me (hint, hint!) I will post a few.

After Heather and Koralyn left Colin took a wonderful 2.5 hour nap and I caught up on things around the house. Then we called Grandma Geach since she was also a hunting widower for the weekend and we went shopping. Colin is such a good little shopper. He was pretty excited about getting a new pair of shoes at Kohl's that Grandma bought him. It was so funny, he was walking like a penguin in them and laughing at himself when he would walk by the mirror. What a funny little guy. Then we went to Fuddrucker's and had dinner. It was a nice night together.

Sunday morning we relaxed at home and just played. After Colin's nap (yes, another 2 hours!) we headed to the outlet mall for more shopping. Colin even helped pick out a Birthday gift for Auntie Stacy. So I told her that if she doesn't like it she can blame Colin!

I guess you could say we pretty much shopped all weekend. Not a bad weekend :)

Tonight Scott comes home and both Colin and I can't wait. We are lucky, this year he is home for a few days. Usually he is gone Friday through the following Saturday or Sunday after Thanksgiving Day for deer season. But this year he is home for a few days and we will all head back up Wednesday night for Thanksgiving weekend.

Colin's Fat Lip

Tuesday night Colin and I were playing at home having a great time waiting for Daddy to get home from work. Like most accidents things happened so quickly. The phone range, I saw it was Auntie Stacy, I went to hand Colin the phone and at the same time he tripped over his feet and down he went flat on his face with no time to put his hands out to keep him from falling flat on this face. I immediately picked him up and he buried his face into me. I was not expecting what I saw next as he threw his head back. BLOOD!! For those who know me, blood is not something I am good with, but I am trying to get better at not freaking out the minute I see it. I know that if Colin is anything like his Daddy, there will be many days ahead that accidents will require stitches. So I tried to stay calm, ran him into the bathroom (and at this time I have a white shirt on that is now blotchy red) and washed up his lips all the while he is crying the most painful cry ever. After cleaning him up I realized it really wasn't all that bad. By the time Scott got home about 10 minutes later his lip was huge! Of course he didn't want me to put ice on it so the best I could do was give him a sippy cup of cold milk. All night he kept saying "Kiss it" and sticking his lip out. It must have felt very funny to him because he kept putting his fingers in his mouth.

Well, I lived through it and so did Colin. I guess these little accidents are just preparing me for the bigger ones ahead some day!

A weekend in Hurley and Camp

For those of you who know us well know that Hurley, WI, and especially the deer hunting camp, are places we visit often. Colin made his first trip to Hurley when he was 2.5 months old and has been going there every few months since then. This past weekend we headed up to Hurley Friday night and spent the night at the Hurley house (this seems to be the new name for it since there is now a second house near by that is Jason and Melissa's house). On Saturday morning we got up and started getting ready for a trip into camp. This was going to be Colin's first sleepover in camp. Before heading out Colin needed a 4 wheeler ride with Daddy. He loves anything that he can "drive" with Daddy.

We made our way into camp and shortly after getting there Uncle Jason and Auntie Melissa joined us. We had a great afternoon and evening in camp playing with Colin, watching deer, making dinner and just spending time together. Colin even took a great afternoon nap in Grandpa's bunkbed!

We were a little concerned with how Colin would do sleeping in camp. We decided the best thing would be for him to sleep with me (mommy) instead of in the pack n' play. We warned Auntie and Uncle that it might be a sleepless night, but they were up for it. Colin did great! He went down at 8:00 and woke a few times to rollover and go back to sleep and didn't wake up until 7:30 the next morning.

Sunday morning we got up and Daddy made us a great breakfast. We took our time getting packed up to go back to Hurley. Colin got more playtime with Auntie and Uncle and Daddy and Uncle were able to get there deer stands ready for opening deer season next weekend. Colin, Auntie and I also took a walk and found Daddy and Uncle in the woods.

Both Deke and Tucker joined us for the trip and of course both of them had a great time. It's amazing how much they both love charging through the woods and just being up north.

Sunday night after getting in from camp we relaxed at the Hurley house with everyone and had dinner. Monday morning we got up, went out for breakfast and packed up to go home. We made a quick stop by Auntie and Uncle's house to say goodbye. Colin slept a good portion of the 4 hour drive home but when he was awake he kept asking about Hurley, camp and Uncle's house. I guess those are becoming a few of his favorite places to go.

We will be back up to Hurley for Thanksgiving Weekend and in camp for a Turkey dinner. We can't wait!

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Geach Family Blog. I attempted to keep a baby website updating everyone on Colin every few weeks but it was more time consuming than I could keep up with. After seeing so many people using blogs and checking this out I'm making the attempt to start a blog for our family.
